1. Write the characters of the story, what are they
like?
The characters of the story are Sura and Baya. They
both were same, always fight each other. But Sura
had broken his own promise, and Baya were very.

2. Do you think that they are best friends?
Yes, I do. They are best friends.
3. Where is the story taken place?
The story taken in the sea, and the people named the
place Surabaya.
4. What was their agreement?
Their agreement was separate their territory. Sura
will lives in the water and look for food in the sea.
And Baya lives on the land and in the river and look
for food there.
5. Did one of them feel satisfied? Why?
Yes, Baya felt satisfied. Because after fought with
sura, Sura finally gave up, and Baya got his territory.

6. What was the ending of the story?
After Sura and Baya fought, the place where they
had fought was a mess. There was
blood everywhere, and people named the place
'Surabaya', from Sura the shark and Baya
the crocodile. The city logo shows this famous fight.


practice 2 : 
1. What is the story about?
The story is about the stone that is an incarnation of
a girl.
2. Who are the characters? What are they like?
The characters are Seruni, Toki, and Seruni's
parents.
- Seruni is a poor girl, because of his father set her
up with a young man who was her own cousin. But,
she is very nice and kind.
- Toki is Seruni's pet. It is a dog, a very nice dog,
because Toki tried to help Seruni.
3. Where did the story happen?
The story happened a long time ago.
4. What is the complication of the story?
When Seruni walked toward the cliffs on the shores
of Lake Toba, she suddenly fell into a hole large
stone to get into the base. She was so desperate not
to ask for help to anyone. She preferred to die in the
hole, she told herself. Suddenly the walls of the hole
begins to close. "Docked ...! Docked stone..!" Cried
Seruni, so that the stone wall is getting closer and
choke her.  Toki saw the incident immediately ran to
the house to ask for help. At home, Toki immediately
approached Seruni's parents with barking, pawing
the ground and pacing around his master, Toki tried
to tell that Seruni was in danger. Aware of what is
implied by the dog, Serun''s Parents immediately.
headed for the field. Both ran to follow Toki
and followed the group of villagers up to the edge of
the hole where their daughters fall. Residents just

1. What are the differences between the two texts?
2. Do they give any moral lessons? If any, what are
they?
Yes, they do give moral lessons. From each texts, we
got three moral lessons.
From the first text:
One, if there's any problem, we must to find a way to
solve it with the right way.
Two, when we made a agreement with someone, we
have to keep the promise, we can't break the
agreement. Because if we break the promise, it'll be
mess up, and the person we promise with will
be disappointment.
Three, we must defend what is ours. Sharing is
caring. But still, we must defend what is ours.
From the second text:
One, as a parents, we can't make decisions on our
own, especially when it comes to our children.
Two, when life gets hard, we have to survive, we
cannot ended life like that.
Three, when someone in danger and seems to need
help, we have to help them like Toki did.

3. Do you think the generic structures of the two
texts the same?
Yes, they are the same.

4. Write the summary of each text you read!
The first text was talking about two animals named
Sura and Baya always fighting each other over food.
Then they made an agreement to stop their fights.
One day Sura broke the promise, Baya was very.
angry. Then they back to fight again. That was their
last fight. But the place where they had fought was a
mess. There was blood everywhere, and people
named the place 'Surabaya', from Sura the shark and
Baya the crocodile. The city logo shows this famous
fight.
The second text was about a girl named Seruni
wanted to end up her life. She planned to walk
toward the cliffs on the shores of Lake Toba. But
suddenly she fell into a hole large stone to get into
the base. After the top of the hole was closed and it
appeared a large stone that resembled a girl's body.
that seemed to hang on the walls of the cliff on the
shores of Lake Toba. People who saw the incident
believe that the stone is an incarnation of Seruni and
later renamed it as "Batu Gantung
